Our principal, Abang Iwawan, is an active member of the Malaysian Bar Council Human Rights Committee and chairs the Empowerment Sub-Committee which was formed to make human rights practice more accessible to young practitioners through a series of initiatives. [Find Out More]

Abang Iwawan also actively volunteers for the Refugees and Asylum Seekers Legal Aid Scheme jointly organised by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Kuala Lumpur Legal Aid Centre.

YSCL Cares

Under Iwawan’s leadership, the YSCL introduced “YSCL Cares”, a community outreach initiative to raise awareness and provide a platform for the youth and young professionals to collaborate with public bodies and explore ways to curb current issues nationwide.

Moderator, Impact of COVID-19 on Migrant Workers and Refugees

Abang Iwawan moderated a distinguished panel of human rights activists including Ms Latheefa Koya, former Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

The webinar was supported by Lighthouse Club Kuala Lumpur, a charitable organisation that provides financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families.
